Mount Salkantay Trek – This is a great alternative for the Inca Trail trek, better suited for more adventuresome trekkers who are able to handle a little more altitude and distance. This trek takes you up and along Mount Salkantay, the second largest mountain in the Cusco region. On the first night, you'll camp within clear sight of the snow capped peak of Salkantay mountain. The second day will be the longest day of the tour, and while you work a bit harder to get there, the views at the top are even more rewarding. The walk to reach the famous Apacheta Pass at 4,600 masl (the Inca Trail's 'Dead Woman’s Pass' is only 4,200 metres) is not strenuous neither very steep, afterward it is mainly descent into a more tropical area passing Andenes and Chaullay on the far side of the mountain. We`ll take the forty five minute train ride from the famous Hydro Electric Dam and then spend the rest of the 4th evening relaxing in the town and hotsprings of Aguas Calientes. In the morning you take the bus up to Machu Picchu for your guided tour.

11 DAY Intensive Ayahuasca Jungle Healing Retreat + Machu Picchu Trip  August 24th - September 3rd 2010

Along the Madre de Dios tributary of the Amazon lies the beautiful Eco Amazonia Lodge, one of the few Peruvian owned jungle retreats in the area. Panduro, the ‘Medico Vegetalista’ is a brilliant curandero with 41 years of Ayahuasca experience. He has had great success facilitating healings of 1st stage cancer, hepatitis, gastritis, Parkinson’s Disease and a variety of other serious illnesses and addictions.

In eight days we submerge ourselves in the world of plant dieting, plant baths and taking ayahuasca for deep healing on many levels that modern medicine cannot reach. Even if you are not seriously ill, you can heal your spirit and emotions with ayahuasca.

Each day is facilitated by experienced shamans and healers who can help you process your journey. Every day there is teaching and group feedback with Panduro with question and answer time.

You will have the opportunity to go on guided walks and canoe trips, see wild monkeys and visit local indigenous communities, or simply choose to relax in the lovely atmosphere of the Lodge, or swim in its refreshing, screened in swimming pool.

People come away from the jungle renewed, cleansed, with a brighter outlook on life. From the jungle we head to Machu Picchu to experience the magic of the ancient citadel for a day. At night we engage in further plant medicine, experiencing the angelic, connective energies of San Pedro cactus.

We will have one afternoon of exploring the Ollantaytambo ruins and Saqsaywaman fortress in Cusco before having a fantastic meeting with the Apus (mountain spirits)! We work with an experienced and well respected Altomesayok shaman who calls in the Apus to speak with us! An experience not many Westerners know about, but a profound opportunity to be in direct conversation with the angelic realm! Mind blowing stuff!

For a profound, life-changing journey to experience the shamanic magic of Peru and heal at a deep level, this is the trip for you! Deep end shamanism, not for the faint hearted!
This trip costs £1800 and includes entry tickets, hotels, breakfasts, lunches (all meals in the Amazon), transport, shamans, guides, all ayahuasca, san pedro, and Apu ceremonies and bottled water.
